Below are the challenges our children had when they were young. I reimagined a different story for them, found a different way to support them, and now they are living their best lives!
Diagnosed at 4.5 years old with Selective Mutism and not progressing as fast as she “should” with a psychologist, we were told there was nothing else the psychologist could do to help her.
Our son became cross-eyed at 18 months, had eye surgery at 2 years old, started eye patching at 3 years old, and got glasses at 4 years old. We were told to accept the fact that he would need to wear glasses the rest of his life.
After 2 months of seemingly non-stop crying, I asked our pediatrician for a referral to a pediatric dental surgeon. We were told our son had Tongue, Lip, AND Cheek Ties. Prior to surgery we did 3 weeks of Craniosacral therapy.
At 12 years old she has overcome her SM, is no longer on an SSRI, no longer in therapy, no longer bedwetting, no longer crying before school, and has made it on a travel girls ice hockey team.
Found vision therapy where he went once a week for 9 months. We did the recommend eye exercises for 9 months at home. At 10 years old he no longer needs glasses as he has 20/20 vision.
From learning about the importance of movement from Craniosacral therapy, I feel the movements we did at a young age led to our 7 year old son being confident, at ease in new situations, and connects easily with others.
